Your Investment in Diamond Jewlery

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

The skilled craftspeople who design and create diamond jewelry usually obtain these precious gems from a special wholesaler specializing in diamonds for sale. The stones which used in diamond earrings and other pieces have ideally been through a thorough lab analysis as well as a certified appraisal. You’ll want to confirm this prior to your purchase of any diamond jewelry.

Gradation and Valuation

This is the first step. Diamonds for sale must be analyzed in a qualified gemology lab (gemology is that sub-specialty within the field of geology that concerns the study of precious and semi-precious stones). These are known as the “Four Cs:”

- Carat

- Color

- Clarity

- Cut

The first of these, carat, refers to the weight and mass of the stone. A carat is approximately equal to one-fifth of a gram. Color is just that. Diamonds for sale come in a wide variety of colors that range from ice-clear to black depending on what other elements are present; pink and blue diamonds can be especially valuable. Clarity is determined by any “flaws” – interior cottony patches that are visible from the outside.

Cut is a less objective characteristic; this depends on the skill of the diamond cutter. Some cuts are more suitable for certain types of diamond jewelry; more elaborate cuts may better show off the gem’s shine and brilliance, or “fire.”

Appraisal

When diamonds for sale undergo an appraisal, they are being assigned a fair market value. It is very important when considering the purchase of diamond jewelry for investment purposes. An appraisal is required to insure jewelry such as diamond wedding bands, diamond earrings, or diamond rings.

Gem-Quality Stones

Diamonds used in industrial situations such as grinding, are of a completely different class than those used in pieces such as diamond engagement rings. In addition, artificial diamonds are less valuable than their naturally formed counterparts.

The quality of the setting also has some effect. A cheaply-made setting does little for a gem’s value, while a carefully crafted custom setting can enhance its value substantially.

Whether you are purchasing diamond earrings as a gift, are looking at diamond engagement rings and diamond wedding ring sets in anticipation of a joyous union – or are considering diamond jewelry as an investment – it’s a good idea to educate yourself thoroughly in order to make sure that you are getting a fair value for your money.

Starting a Business Philippine Style

Friday, January 29th, 2010

DO YOU prefer working regular hours under a reasonable supervisor in a well-established city office? Many people do. A person with such employment may enjoy greater security than one starting out fresh in a business of his own.

In the Philippines, however, there are those who prefer taking the risk. They want to enjoy working hours suited to their needs. There will, of course, be no promotions, no occasional raises in salary and no possibility of receiving a gold watch upon retirement. But this does not particularly concern these individuals. They find satisfaction in making a living by using their own skills and sound business sense. For them, nothing can compare with the opportunity of working with wife and children all day long and counting their blessings together when evening falls.

Filipinos often start a small business right at home. Consider what some of the possibilities are.

What Kind of Business?

Do you have a hobby that could become a full-time job? Perhaps you make toys for your children. If so, could you also make toys for other people

5 Fabulous Ways To Give The Gift Of Cubic Zirconia Jewelry

Friday, January 29th, 2010

If you’ve found the perfect gift to give in terms of cubic zirconia jewelry and just need to discover a fabulous way to present it, don’t fret. Believe it or not, there are plenty of ways to give a gift that will show the recipient just how much creativity and thought went into the gift and it’s presentation.

Wrap it up. If you really want to surprise someone with the gift of jewelry, the most important thing that you can do is to avoid wrapping it in the original box. All women know what a jewelry box looks like and what size it is, so you can surprise her simply by how you choose to wrap the gift. If you are up to the task, wrap the original jewelry box in your favorite gift wrap and follow it up by placing that in a larger box. Wrap this box and place it inside of an even larger box, which you will also wrap. You get the idea. With each box that she unwraps and opens, the packages will get smaller and smaller until she finally reaches the smallest box featuring her perfect jewelry surprise.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks to the innovation of today, we now have Christmas ornaments that can be personalized with a photo. One creative way to give the gift of jewelry is to take a photo of the jewelry and place it inside of a photo ornament. If you’re buying a gift for Christmas, decorate the tree using the custom ornament and then surprise the recipient with the gift when she notices the photo.

It is what’s inside that counts. If you are planning to give someone the fabulous gift of cubic zirconia jewelry, you can double the surprise by purchasing a tabletop jewelry box and placing the jewelry inside. Wrap the jewelry box with a bow and watch the recipient’s face when she discovers that she’s getting a beautiful jewelry box, but she’s also getting the surprise inside. If you’re giving a ring, for instance, make sure that the jewelry box has a ring roll inside and sit the ring directly in the center so that it’s instantly visible once the box is opened.

Cute and cuddly wins every time. Believe it or not, you can be very creative and sweet by not giving the jewelry gift personally. In fact, you can enlist the help of a cute and cuddly teddy bear to do all of the work, while you get all of the credit. Simply attach your jewelry gift to a ribbon, which you can tie into a bow around the teddy bear and leave it somewhere that she’s sure to notice. Upon first glance, the teddy bear appears to be the gift. After further inspection, however, she will discover the sparkle of cubic zirconia jewelry.

Dinner is a sure winner. If you’re surprising your honey with a beautiful gift of cubic zirconia jewelry, consider cooking her dinner and serving it with a special covered ‘dessert.’ After the meal is finished, bring her a covered plate that reveals a small gift box when uncovered. She will love the surprise and the thought that went into the evening, but she will also love you for the effort.

Silver Jewelry – The Affordable Fine Jewelry

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Many people love to receive jewelry as a gift. When most people think of jewelry, they tend to think of gold. However, silver jewelry is quickly becoming the popular choice as it is now considered a fine jewelry. Real silver jewelry no longer has to be compared to cheap jewelry. Even though it is no longer considered to be “cheap” jewelry, it is still very affordable. It is all about the craftsmanship and if there are any stones or diamonds on the piece of jewelry.

If you have someone special in your life, or if you want to buy something extra nice for your mother, aunt, or friend, you will want to see the various kinds of silver jewelry out there. There are all kind of different pieces you can purchase. There are hoop earrings, stud earrings, necklaces, chokers, bracelets, anklets, toe rings and finger rings. If you are looking for something a little different, you will be happy to know that you should also have no problem finding belly button rings, nose rings, lip rings and eyebrow rings in silver. While the belly button ring may not be something you will purchase for your grandmother, you can give it to your girlfriend and pick your grandmother up a nice pair of stud earrings.

Another nice thing about the silver jewelry is that it makes for a lovely heirloom gift. You can pass the jewelry on to your children or your grandchild. It will serve as something for them to remember you by and they can always cherish it. When it is time, they can then pass it on to their children or children and tell them all about where it originally came from.

You will want to make sure that you are also picking up the right jewelry cleaner for your silver jewelry. By keeping your jewelry clean, you will be able to ensure that it will last for many years and continue to look just as it did the first day you bought it. If you are buying the silver jewelry for someone else, you can add the jewelry cleaner as a part of the gift. This will help ensure that they remember to keep their jewelry clean and it will provide them with a point of reference as far as what kind of cleaner should be used for their new jewelry.

When shopping for silver jewelry, you may want to see if there are any warranties that you can purchase or that automatically come with the jewelry. Be sure to also make sure that you are shopping around so that you can know without doubt that you are getting the best deal possible. You have your dress, you’ve got your shoes, your hair style picked out; but you still need to “finish your look” for the big day. That is where your bridal jewelry comes in.

It used to be that pearls, which are wonderful for weddings and brides, were the only jewelry that brides wore. Now with the internet and the growing bridal jewelry businesses out there, your choices have become limitless.

Are you looking for some sparkle, or something simple and elegant? Search the internet for bridal jewelry and you will find a wide variety of resources out there to suit your specific needs. This is where your bridal jewelry will make the difference. Find pieces of jewelry that “speak to you”, that fit your color or theme for the special day. In many cases, bridal jewelry makers will create a custom piece for you that is special and unique.

When choosing your bridal jewelry, look for some parallel between your wedding gown or style of shoes and other accessories. This will help you pull your look together when making your selection. Many times, you will be able to find on various bridal jewelry websites, tiaras, headbands, hairpins and combs that will pair up or match bridal necklaces, bridal earrings and bridal bracelets. Consistency and a common look and feel through out your bridal accessories is key to not looking “patched” together.

This is your day, make the best of it, feel beautiful and find the bridal jewelry that is right for you. Feeling comfortable with how you look is all part of feeling beautiful. If you want to be a unique bride that looks gorgeous on your wedding day, search for the bridal jewelry that will compliment your attire.
